Mobile language-learning app
Shadow Flow is a mobile app for language shadowing developed and operated by Keith Cheng. Users watch videos, follow subtitles, repeat short phrases aloud, record their own practice, and save useful lines for later review.
The purpose of Shadow Flow is to make language practice more active. Instead of only watching a video, learners can listen to a sentence, repeat it, compare timing, and build a personal review library.
Users choose a video and practice with synced subtitles so they can focus on real speech rhythm, pronunciation, and listening comprehension.
The app supports repeat playback, phrase-level practice, local voice recording, and playback of a user's own recording during practice sessions.
Users can save subtitles, phrases, and learning progress on their device so they can return to difficult lines and continue practicing later.
Google Sign-In is optional. Shadow Flow requests user data only when a user chooses to connect their Google account. Read-only YouTube access is used to show playlists and subscriptions inside the app so the user can choose videos for language-shadowing practice.
Shadow Flow does not upload videos, publish comments, change playlists, delete content, or modify a user's YouTube account.
Shadow Flow is designed so core learning data stays local. Practice history, saved subtitles, playback progress, and voice recordings are stored on the user's device. Diagnostics and anonymous analytics may be used to improve app stability.
